On the structure economy of republic reminds the typical country of the third world: its basis is export of energy carriers, and also to a lesser degree a clap. On stocks and an oil recovery and gas the republic takes leading place in the Central Asian economic region. Export of energy carriers is a basis of Turkmen economy. Economic branches develop by high rates. Significant growth is noted in agriculture, the industry, transport and communication, construction, in trade, in sphere of services. There is the tendency of intensive development of leading industries — oil, gas, oil refining, light and food. Extracting branches of a fuel and energy complex of the country stably develop. Parameters on manufacture of mineral oil and gas invariable grow. Significant successes are reached in building: manufacture of cement, release of non-metallic building materials, and manufacture of sheet glass. High rates characterize development the youngest, but branch of national economy dynamically developing last years — light industry: the cotton yarn, a washed wool, cotton fabrics and garments. The basic volume of textile production is made by the enterprises of the Ministry of the textile industry of Turkmenistan. Stably high rates of growth are observed and in the food-processing industry: soft drinks, flour, bread, bakery products, a canned meat and confectionery products.
